While in physical therapy school she developed an interest in pelvic floor physical therapy after suffering with pelvic pain herself. At Empower Your Pelvis, we are passionate about pelvic health and helping women restore function in all aspects of their life.
Dr. Amanda Fisher, DPT is a graduate of University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, and she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy degree from Rockhurst University of Kansas City, Missouri. She has had numerous continuing education courses in orthopedics and pelvic health courses including advanced training in hormonal imbalances and the female athlete. Amanda has also enhanced her skills over the years with insightful experiences with many wonderful mentors.
After working in the heart of Kansas City, she recognized a need for pelvic health physical therapy services in the Lee’s Summit community, so Amanda combined her passion and clinical skills to open Empower Your Pelvis. You will be one-on-one with Amanda for the entire length of your appointment. By closely monitoring your progress, concerns are addressed quickly and your recovery stays on track. Amanda provides an intimate environment to help you relax and focus on your body’s recovery. She is compassionate and caring – you will feel the difference this makes in your care. Amanda treats patients in her clinic and in the patient’s home by appointment only (when a patient is unable to visit the clinic.)
She is also a wife and mother of two. One of Amanda’s goals is to be able to balance her professional and her personal life, which you will see reflected in the clinic’s hours. Amanda has been on the patient side of pelvic floor dysfunction and understands the importance of being listened to, receiving care in a private comfortable setting, having her time valued, and gaining knowledge of how to continue self-care beyond the clinic.
Amanda enjoys biking, baking, running, reading, traveling, girls nights, and family time.
